...Friday FITspiration...

Friday, February 7, 2014

Well ladies THIS is the time to start working towards that summer body you want to flaunt when it gets warmer outside!

Start TODAY to start working towards your health and fitness goals.
Stop making excuses and get up and do something about it!
Start a habit NOW and you will see how easy it will be to carry out that habit throughout the rest of 2014.

First things first...make realistic goals. It is common for people to lose 1-2 pounds a week. More than that is usually a sign of something unhealthy.

Set a plan of action:  How you will eat healthier? will you drink more water? what days/times can you incorporate a workout or fitness routine into your already busy day?
People who get things done do not always have time to go everything they need to do...THEY MAKE TIME!

MAKE TIME to reach your health and fitness goals. Make 2014 YOU year.

...2014: The Year of ME!...

Thursday, January 9, 2014

*Welcome back...Welcome back...WELCOME BACK*

Ahhhhhhh
Well ladies and gents I am BACK in the Midwest.
And after being in Florida for a week and in Texas for two weeks
the Midwest decided to welcome me with subzero temperatures and snow
*sigh*
It makes me wonder WHY i still live here :-P

Anywho...
A LOT has been going on with me
With the ventures with my business...modeling...school...and dating...

Me and Mr. Awesome did not work out.
BBBUUUUTTT that is OK!
There are more fish in the sea and i have decided to jump back into the dating pool

I decided to join a dating site...and WOW
LADIES! There are some CREEPY guys out there!

I have decided that my blog would be a perfect platform to use to teach girls AND guys the best things to do (and NOT do) when it comes to dating from my perspective.

My first advice guys (and girls):
Please Please Please find a good topic to talk about...and when a girl says No...SHE REALLY MEANS NO!

Exhibit A:

Now class...can someone please tell me what is wrong with this conversation...

(1) His topic of choice was not the best...
Stating: "Hi, did you know that the first two people on earth were of african descent and that we all are decendants of them. Would you like to talk with me. If not I understand not everyone is made for eachother. Thanks for you time..."

This is NOT a good idea...at least for me...
This guy is not of African Descent.  Although it is a great topic for discussion...it is NOT a good topic when you are trying to speak to a girl for the first time.

And also...SPELL CHECK SPELL CHECK SPELL CHECK!
I am not saying that i am the worlds best speller and that i spell everything right. But if your previous statement is that you are educated yet you misspell easy words within that very same statement that is a red flag...

Last but not least...if you send a girl a message...and see that she is online and does not reply back to you..that usually means she does not want to talk with you.

There are several reasons i choose not to reply to guys who i am not interested in.
The main reason is because i really just do not have to.  If i did that i would spend most of my time replying to guys who i am not interested in!  And you never know a "nice" way to say you are not interested. I have tried to flat out say that i am not interested...or give an excuse (such as their height) to show that i am not interested.  But some guys will not get the hint and will continue to message you. I guess they hope that you will eventually give in? I don't know...but when i say no...i usually mean NO...

*Phew*
that was my little rant for today.
ooooh don't worry i have about a dozen more of these examples to share folks. It only gets better from here! LoL

So i guess you guys will be long for the journey of me finding someone.
I do have a few dates set up.

I will be kind and i will protect the privacy of these guys and not give any direct details (such as name or other personal details).  So like with the other guys i have dated i will give them nicknames just to keep things fun.

So welcome to 2014!
Set some long lasting goals
Make 2014 YOUR year (because i know it is mine!)
And i am excited to blog more (one of my 2014 goals) and share the ups and downs of my life with you :-)

“Most of us think we don’t have enough time to exercise. What a distorted paradigm! We don’t have time not to. We’re talking about three to six hours a week – or a minimum of thirty minutes a day, every other day. That hardly seems an inordinate amount of time considering the tremendous benefits in terms of the impact on the other 162 – 165 hours of the week.” ~ Stephen Covey

What is your excuse?  YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ONE!

Weight loss is a side effect of living a healthy lifestyle.  Your diet is number 1. You can live in the gym, but if you don’t eat clean you’re wasting your time.

Reaching your health and fitness goals is based off of the workouts you do, but most importantly the foods that you eat!

To ensure that your body is getting the fuel it needs, you HAVE to have a clean consistent diet.  You have to fuel your body with the right choice of foods.  Try to stay away from processed foods and food stacked with sugar.  Stick to fresh fruits and veggies as well as meats and whole grain rice, pasta, and breads.  These are the best options to consume when wanting to eat the right foods to help you reach your goals.  You can work out for hours each day, but if you do not have the proper diet all of that hard work will go to waste!

Yes it will be hard, but the results will be worth it!

…4th of July Healthy Meals…

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Yes summer time is here and what is the fun thing to do on holidays such as the 4th of July?
Meet at the park and have a BBQ with your friends and family?
Cook up some great foods and hit the lake?
Or go to the local pool or beach and enjoy the sun and some great food?
Just because it is a holiday does not mean that you have to make unhealthy food choices.
there are PLENTY of healthy food options for you to choose from.
You can create a healthy dish that looks just as good and TASTE just as YUMMY as the non healthy desserts you usually have.
Here are a few tips to help you stay on track with your healthy eating during the upcoming holiday weekend:
  • Try to make fruit trays instead of cookies or other types of candy
  • Use low-fat whip topping for a substitute for ice cream
  • You can make a low-fat pudding dessert and add fruit and granola instead of pies and ice cream
  • Try to provide water bottles instead of sugary drinks and carbonated beverages
  • If you want to get Popsicle try to use the fruit Popsicle or create your own with real fruit, honey, and almond milk
  • You can also freeze yogurt and server that as a sweet treat
  • Try to grill with chicken, turkey, or lean beef instead of other fatty meats
  • Try to keep the salads healthy by limiting the amount of cheese and creamy dressings that you can put on them.
  • PLAN AHEAD!  This will allow you to create and plan out your menu’s instead of waiting until the last-minute.  This will limit the chances of you “grabbing something” that can be unhealthy for you and your guest.
These are just a FEW tips that can help you stay on track with your healthy eating when you plan your 4th of July meals.

I hope that you guys have a fun, safe, and HEALTHY 4th of July!
