...Random Wednesday Ramblings...

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Happy Wednesday!!!
THIS WEEK HAS BEEN GOING BY SO SLLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!
LoL
Seriously ! I am SO SO SO ready for this weekend to get here.
I am sure you are wanting to know why (and if you don't want to know why 2 bad because i am about to tell you! LoL)
This Saturday i will step on the stage at 11:00 AM to compete in my 2nd Bikini Competition!
I have been in training for the past 12 weeks!
This means strict diet...no drinking...and for the past 3 weeks i have been doing 2 a days at the gym (early AM cardio PLUS evening cardio and weight lifting)
Yes...i have clocked in a lot of hours in the gym this past 12 weeks!
And i have LOVED every second of it!
If you want to know more about my 1st competition i did back in October of 2012
you can click HERE (more info about bikini competitions) and HERE (more info on the suit i bought)
Here is a picture of me on the stage back in October (just 5 months ago!)

i did take about 2 weeks off and then enjoyed Thanksgiving, My birthday, and Xmas.
But i still stuck to my workouts and still ate pretty healthy. (i did have a few treats while i was at home in Texas.  Mexican food is my WEAKNESS! LoL)

Here is a little example of some of the things i got to eat...

Who says eating healthy and clean has to be bland or boring!
Sorry i had to water mark my images
Found out some ppl on the net were stealing my pictures and claiming them for their own :-/
Plus i am working on a clean eating recipe book for simple, AFFORDABLE, and healthy recipes!
so email me at infinitelifefitness@gmail.com  if you are interested and want a copy!!

I think for this show i will wear the same black suit in the picture above (the orange suite i bought is still a little too snug :-( i think i ordered it one size too small so i still need to work on my legs/butt in order for it to fit the way i want)  I may have my hair the same OR it will be straight.  and i got new jewelry for this show!

This upcoming show is in St. Louis and it is a PRETTY BIG SHOW!
So i am def nervous and honestly do not expect to place very high since i am new to all of this but i do hope to at least place in the top 10!!

So on Saturday while you are all sleeping in and enjoying your pancakes and bacon have an extra piece for me! LoL
I will get to feast on pizza, chips, and cheese cake late Saturday night and I CAN NOT WAIT!

Mr. Awesome designed a shirt to wear to the competition to support me and it is SO CUTE!
I will for sure post pictures when i have some.

*sigh* well it is time to snack on my chicken breast and asparagus.
3 more days until i step on the stage!
but more exciting is that in 3 more days i can have a REAL meal! LoL

Happy Wednesday guys!
have a happy and HEALTHY day!

It's FINALLY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

What does this mean!?!
Well for me it mean My Love will FINALLY be in the same state as me in just a few hours :-)
He is flying in to be with me for a WHOLE WEEK and words can NOT express how excited i am to have him here with me!

No worries...i will be sure to give an update on his visit next week!

Ok so i broke the news to your guys a few days ago that i am going to be competing in a Bikini competition in October.

I have gotten a few questions about it...sooooo i decided to just do a 'Tell All" post about it :-)

What is a Bikini Competition?
A bikini competition is a health/fitness competition.  In a nut shell it is somewhat of a fitness pageant (with out the talent and Q&A parts)
What you do is you train for MONTHS (eating REALLY healthy and working out A LOT)
You get on stage (in a bikini) and they judge you on your physic.

They have other kinds of competitions like figure competition or fitness.  These are a lot harder to train for and you have to work hard to gain muscle as well as slim down.

I do not want to bulk up very much, i just want to be lean and tone so i chose to go with the bikini competition which is exactly the goal i was going for.
READ HERE for a little more info about it...

How are you training for the competition?
right now i eat 5-6 small meals a day.  They are all pre-weighed out and i eat a certain combination of foods to help me get the right about or protein while keeping my sugar and carbs levels low.  You guys may have seen my meal pics on Instagram.  I cook my meals usually on Sunday and keep them in the fridge so i just grab them at meal time.  I workout 5-6 days a week. i do 45-60 minutes of cardio plus weight training (only 4 days a week right now).

What kind of bikini do you wear for your competition?
here is an example of what i have to wear...

they have a lot of rules and regulations for the things you can and cannot wear on stage.  You can wear an "off the shelf" bikini but it does not show off your body the best way for judging.

Why would you ever want to do something like this?
I was asked to join a fitness promotional team earlier this year and we will get to promo at some of these fitness competitions.  I just got more and more interested in it and thought to myself "Why Not!?"
I have always eaten pretty healthy and worked out regularly.  But i knew i would have to dedicate more time and effort into getting ready for this competition.  I also met a girl in my area that started training for one around the time i was stating to train for mine so it was just a reassuring thing to push me to want to do it.
It is just one more thing to push me to work hard in the gym so that i can look and feel the way i want 2 :-)

Are your friends/family/boyfriend supportive?
YES all of them are very supportive.  Like i said i was always the healthy eater our of our group so my friends are use to my "healthy" ways.  Of course i get the random teasing but nothing that is extreme.  My boyfriend is very supportive and is even helping find the best suit for me for the competition.  My family is supportive but they live so far away they they can not actually be here for the competition.

What has been the hardest part of training for this competition?
the hardest part by far was getting use to the meal schedule!
I was always the kind of person to eat my 4 -5 meals a day but only when my body told me i was hungry.  It took me a few days to get use to the schedule and menu but after that it was OK.  I already was a gym rat so spending hours in the gym is nothing new to me. I did have to get use to MORE cardio which was hard at first but i have adjusted well to it.  The key is to change things up and have fun!

I hope that this has answered some questions that anyone may have had!
It is still so new to me and i am learning a lot.  But i will for sure keep you updates with my progress!
