...Timebomb Thursday...

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Welcome to another Thursday!
That just means that Friday is RIGHT around the corner!!

This week has for sure FLOWN by!!!

Today, i am bring back Timebomb Thursday!

Today lets take a little stroll down memory lane to look at these great items from our childhood

Today we are going to take a look at T.V. shows that had us hooked every Saturday morning!
Who can remember this amazing show:

DINOSAURS

This show was SO funny! With the teenage dinosaur kids and the little stewie like dinosaur baby.
It was a TV sensation during my childhood and was on cereal boxes, happy meals, and even school supplies.

How about this show:

KaBlam

this low budget comic like show was one of my favorites!
It has the HeeMan Action figure along with the hilarious Alien who was always getting into trouble.
It was so random...low budget...but SO GOOD!

Ok last for this week...How about this show:

Gullah Gullah Island

This show was a show i would NOT miss each week!
As a child we got to vacation on the beach a lot so i think that also played a huge factor into it.
I loved the songs, the dances, and that BIG YELLOW FROG was my favorite!!

I hope that some of you were able to enjoy some of these shows during your younger years.
These were all great shows (in my opinion) and i can honestly say that i miss them and i hope that i will be able to share them with my kids!

Happy Thursday guys!
Have a great day and hold tight until Friday gets here!! :-)

...Timebomb Thursday...

Thursday, March 7, 2013

When looking through my blog i realized that i had not done this in a LOOONG time!
So many people enjoyed talking a walk down memory lane (and so did i!)
So this week...i decided to bring back TimebombThursday!

For the new followers Throwback Thursday is a segment on my blog where i talk about items from out child hood.  I am a 90's baby so there are SO many great things from my childhood that  are no longer around today :-(
For today since my diet is strict (competition in less than two weeks!!!)
the best way for me to get over my cravings is to just remember old foods that i enjoyed that i know i cant have! (weird...i know...but it def seems to help me! i know its all mental so i guess knowing that i cant even find it at the store tricks my mind into not wanting junk food anymore)

For this weeks Timebomb Thursday who can remember these tasty messy treats...

Doritos 3D's

these snacks were for sure a TREAT in my house.  Yes they were priced higher than the "regular" Doritos simply because they were a "Doritos puff:"... and they were mighty delicious!! LoL
I know i remember begging my mom to get these on several occasions!

Reptar Crunch

Ok i was a HUGE rugrats fan!! I know we had movies...shirts...school supplies...and even the video games that came out from this show.  and of course...we had to get the Reptar crunch!
We only had it a few times but it taste pretty much like fruity pebbles with captain crunch...

and lastly...one of my FAVORITE treats from my childhood...

The Wonder Ball

The wonder ball was a hollow chocolate ball...with sweet tart like candy in the middle! So it was like getting two types of candies in one package!
EVERY KIDS DREAM! And i know in the "later" models they even had figures or toys in some of the wonder balls!  Talk about amazing!!!

*sigh*
ooooh to be a child again!
The only worries you had were getting excited about gym class...hoping you made it home in time to watch your favorite shows...and waking up early enough on Saturday morning to catch your favorite Saturday morning cartoons! Yup....that was the good life! LoL

Well i hope you all are having a good week so far!
Hopefully some of you were able to enjoy some of these amazing treats!
Stay tuned until next time!

Happy Thursday All!
I Know i missed out on last week's Timebomb...bbbuuuuuuuttttt
No worries! I am bringing it to you this week!
Today is MY Friday so i am so excited for today to get over with!
I hope that you all have had an amazing week so far
You guys can make it ONE MORE DAY!
Its almost Friday!!! :-)

Do any of you remember getting one...two...three...or four of these a day?

I got them from my best friends...from guys i had crushed on...from my first "Boy friend"...
Oh yea and don't you dare let a teacher see you passing one of these in class!
I do not know how many times we got to hear these read out loud in the middle of math...English...or history class! LoL

These were OUR "text messages"
These were my first love letters
There were how you say sorry to your BFF for forgetting to meet her at her locker during passing period
These are how i was asked to the school dance
These were how i you would communicate 'Back in the day"
I was doing some spring cleaning and found some of these stuffed in an old shoe box
It instantly brought a smile to my face

Ok what about this...

This my friends....made ANY kid think that they could be the next Stevie Wonder
With all the added extra buttons you could press to add drums...synthesizer...or any other weird/random sounds...this key board made it possible to have a jam session ANYWHERE!
I know i begged and begged my parents for one...Casio was the brand to be correct...
and yup i got one.  It was the length of my small child twin bed and i played that thing ALL THE TIME!
I remember my parents "forgetting" to buy batteries for it so that i would not use it sometimes...LoL
Ahhhh yes...once upon a time i also thought i could be Alicia Keys...but i was lacking with my vocals and managed to remix "Mary had a little lamb" into 7 differences songs.
Gahhhh i love being an 80's Baby!

So far TimeBomB Thursday has been a HIT!
I have gotten tons of positive feedback about this series an it makes people dance through memory lane and brings back the happy playful childhood memories they have.
So i guess i should just keep going with the TimeBomb Thursday!

Who can say that they remember this little guy...

This hideous creature was the very first thing that gave me a nightmare.
This probably the first movie i refused to watch again after seeing it the first time!
Before this hideous create evolved it was created from a "Mogwai"
It was a white and brown furry animal with big bright eyes.  The main character of the movie named his pet Gizmo and was told NOT to feed it after midnight...keep it out of the bright light...and to not get it wet. As all of the rules are broken this horrible Gremlin is hatched causing all kinds of trouble for the town they live in...yes there was a sequel several years later and to this day i still can NOT watch that movie...LoL

And of course we CAN NOT forget about this toy...

The Farmer Says
This is called a  "Farmer Says".

It had a string or latch on the side you can push down.  What ever animal the red arrow was pointing at this amazingly annoying toy would say..."Farmer says Moooo....or meow....or quack" or whatever noise the animal happened to be.  This is a toy for younger kinds and i remember my older brother demolishing mine after having to listen to it on a road trip to a family function one year....LoL..
*Random thought* why are some children toys so annoying? They always have some repetitive noise or voice or something that makes you want to "lose" it so the child can not play with it anymore...

Well here is your flashback for this week. I hope i was not the only person terrorized by the Gremlin movie!

Happy Thursday to all!
With the weekend quickly approaching i hope that you all some fantastic plans for this weekend!
I plan on taking a camping/floating trip with some of my best gal pals!
I have been planning this trip for 3 months! so i am so so so excited for it to finally be here!
For those of you who will be traveling this weekend i hope that you guys have a safe journey to your locations and back home at the end of the weekend!

timebomb thursday

Who can remember these....

i absolutely LOVED looking in my lunchbox and seeing that my mom put one of these in it.
These would not only stay cold longer...BUT you got so much more CapriSun than those stupid flimsy pouches you had to poke your straw in!
Not to mention my favorite flavor ONLY came in theses aluminum can!
These were by far one of my favorite lunch time/snack time treats

OK OK...now who can tell me that they honestly have NEVER played with one of these...

Oh Mr. Simon...
I think i blame YOU for making me so easily amused.
I confess i would sit for HOURS on those rainy Saturday afternoons or on long road trips and play you.
I remember playing competitions with my cousins or the other kids around to see who could make it to the furthest level
Your tantalizing beeping noises still echo in my mind every time i see you
BUT i will thank you because of you i think i did indeed develop better hand/eye coordination skills
I would like to say that i am still the reigning champion for making it farther than ANY of my friends.
You Mr. Simon...are one toy that will forever be engraved in my childhood.

I hope these brought back a few Happy childhood memories for you guys!
Like i said have a good Memorial Day weekend and for those traveling have a safe trip!
