These are the 4 major things that you need in order to help you reach your goals.
You body is MADE in the kitchen!  What you do and do not eat has a HUGE impact on how your body will form.  Your body is sculpted on the gym.  The cardio and weight lifting will start to build and sculpt the body you are working hard for.  When you eat right, workout out, and drink plenty of water all of the other things will start to fall into place. 
Sleeping well comes with the territory!
No more restless nights! When i lay down at night, i am OUT within 5 minutes.  I sleep completely through the night (unless i have to get up to go to the bathroom) but notice that i am well rested and ready for the day when i wake up the next morning!

Getting health and fit is about balance
Learning how to balance all of things that go on in your life as well as trying to fit in time for YOU

Work hard for YOU and no one else.

...Bikini Competition #2...

As Promised here is the update about the competition I did a few weeks ago!
For my new followers i participate in NPC Bikini Competitions

NO these are not your spring break bikini competitions
You have to prepare for MONTHS to compete and do good in these competitions
It requires dedication, motivation, a strict diet, and a lot of time in the gym!


This time i was lucky enough to have a few girls from my area travel with me and do the competition
This was a BIG competition with over 200 competitors competing that weekend



My two other friends placed in the top 5! 
This got them medals and possibly the chance to compete at the next BIG competition.
I did not place as high as they did BUT i did still do really good and i had an amazing time!
I do plan on competing again in June so i just started preparing for that competition! 
It is 10 weeks away and i want to place in the top 5!!! (and get a medal! )

Like i said before i had an amazing time! You get to meet so many amazing women who have all been working hard and working towards the same goal.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!
Well we have made it to another Sunday!
My Sunday is cold...snowy...and cold :-(
I can not WAIT for summertime to get here!!!

I am SICK of snow!
I honestly would be happy to never see snow again!
*sigh*

Oh well.  Today i start training for my next competition that will be in June!
I got to enjoy TONS of junk food and some of my favorite foods...
...grilled cheese...
...spinach artichoke dip...
...ice cream...
...wine...
... Mexican food...
...Chips...
plus a ton of other great junk food.
It was nice to get to take a week off from working out and eating 100% healthy (i ate healthy all day and then had my choice of a "bad" meal)
But i am also happy to get back to my workouts and eating healthy!

i will post pics soon from my competition :-)

Some people say that they gain weight or develop bad eating habits as a way to cope with stress in their life.
Yes life may be hard on us at times but that is how it is suppose to be!
Try to find other outlets when you are feeling stressed or overwhelming.
If you are an emotional eater try to start eating on "healthier" options.
Instead of that ice cream and chocolate try yogurt or chocolate covered nuts.
You have to slowly make these kind of changes and once you start to make them a habit it will be easier for you to keep doing it.

The harder you work to achieve your health and fitness goals the more rewarding it will feel when you finally reach your goals. 
STAY STRONG...stay MOTIVATED...stay DETERMINED!
And you will get there :-)

Welcome to another Thursday!
That just means that Friday is RIGHT around the corner!!

This week has for sure FLOWN by!!!

Today, i am bring back Timebomb Thursday!

Today lets take a little stroll down memory lane to look at these great items from our childhood

Today we are going to take a look at T.V. shows that had us hooked every Saturday morning!
Who can remember this amazing show:

DINOSAURS


This show was SO funny! With the teenage dinosaur kids and the little stewie like dinosaur baby.
It was a TV sensation during my childhood and was on cereal boxes, happy meals, and even school supplies. 


How about this show:


KaBlam


this low budget comic like show was one of my favorites!
It has the HeeMan Action figure along with the hilarious Alien who was always getting into trouble.
It was so random...low budget...but SO GOOD!

Ok last for this week...How about this show:

Gullah Gullah Island


This show was a show i would NOT miss each week!
As a child we got to vacation on the beach a lot so i think that also played a huge factor into it.  
I loved the songs, the dances, and that BIG YELLOW FROG was my favorite!!


I hope that some of you were able to enjoy some of these shows during your younger years.
These were all great shows (in my opinion) and i can honestly say that i miss them and i hope that i will be able to share them with my kids!

...Breaking You UNHEALTHY Bad Habits...

Starting on a new health and fitness journey does not just involve working out and eating right.  It also means cutting out other bad health habits as well.  One of the most common issues some of my clients have is their battle with giving up nicotine.
Nicotine comes in all shapes and sizes!  This includes smoking cigarettes and doing snus (or also called snuff).  Both are pretty bad habits, but I would have to say that using snus is a pretty nasty habit.  For those of you who do not know how someone may use snus I will describe it in more detail:
Snus (also called snuff) is a powdered form of tobacco leaves. It is a form of smokeless tobacco and can be infused with other flavors to make it more taste appealing.  It can be snuffed up the nostrils but is most commonly gathered and placed between the space that is located in front of your  teeth and your lip.

Smoking or doing snus is BAD for you!  It still baffles me to see people walk into the store and purchase cigarettes.  There are so many studies that have proven the bad health benefits to using these products.  Second hand smoke has also been found to be harmful to people who are inhaling the smoke hence why many cities are making restaurants and other public places smoke free.
Cutting these habits may be tough but it is necessary in order to achieve optimal health results.  Smoking or doing snuff is like adding poison to your body and over time it can cause serious and even life threatening heath problems.
Mayo Clinic  has created a great article that can help those with curving your tobacco cravings which can also help you with eliminating your tobacco use.  They suggest the following things:
  • Try to delay your cravings.  If you get a craving to use tobacco to try to wait longer.  Try to occupy your time and do something to get your mind off of your cravings. 
  • Don't have "just one".  If you cave into your cravings this sets you up to cave in again when you really want tobacco.  Do what you can to fight your cravings and try not to give into the temptation.  Yes it will be hard, but if you want to stop using tobacco you have to start by saying NO.
  • Try to avoid doing things that will trigger your mind to want to use tobacco.  For example, you only smoke when you _____.  Try to stay away from doing those activities or try to have something you can do to take your mind off of.  Good examples would be to do a cross word or word search.  You can even try chewing gum or drinking water.
  • You can also try to use nicotine replacements such as the nicotine gum or patched you can get at the store.  These are great options to help you to slowly start to decrease the amount of nicotine you get into your body.
  • The other important thing is to have a support system!  Try to have someone or something that you can turn to when you really feel the urge to use tobacco.
The CDC also offers some great advice, as well as The American Cancer Society.   There are many different resources and local programs that are available to help those who are seeking guidance and help.
Embarking on your own health and fitness journey is more than just working out to look good.  It is about strengthening and building a stronger body, mind, and soul.  Eliminating your mind, body, and environment of all of the negative and bad things and embracing the good.
So why not stand up NOW and make a change! Start TODAY! Any day is a great day to start YOUR health and fitness journey.  Stop stalling and stop waiting!  Do something about it TODAY!.
